Gravel Bikes
One of TVMTBC’s most respected members, who is always an early adopter, bought a gravel bike in late 2018 and rode it at every opportunity, each time extolling its virtues and adaptability. Even though I witnessed this first hand I was not convinced gravel biking was any more than a fad and possibly an over-rated fad at that.
TVMTBC End of Year Review
Welcome to our review of 2019 which was our 10 anniversary. Once again the club was very active and for the first time in excess of 50 rides of all types were organised comprising many evening rides (including dark nights with lights), numerous day rides and multi day rides.
MOD Otterburn and Upper Coquetdale
Today 10 club members with a range of ages on a variety of bikes rode the amazing MOD Otterburn and Upper Coquetdale loop in the Cheviot Hills close to the Scottish Border.
Jenny Graham at the Queens Hall
Female cyclist Jenny Graham cycled around the world in 124 days breaking the world record by 20 days. Cycling 15 hours daily and averaging 156 miles per day, Jenny rode 18,000 miles unsupported across 4 continents and through 16 countries carrying all her kit.
