Map showing the Dozen Dales Cycle Routes

Is been a mad busy 3 weeks. TVMTBC has been assisting the North Pennines AONB to submit a bid for a significant lump of funding to implement the Dozen Dales Cycle Routes which club members have been working on for a long time.

The twin routes link Wooler and Skipton passing through 12 main dales - one is 100% tarmac and t'other is as off-road as possible. The Northumberland third loops through the Cheviots to join the Sandstone Way at Alwinton as far as Hexham.

There are optional MTB loops through the North Pennines and again around the Yorkshire Dales. We will know if the grant is awarded in late August and then it will be all go implementing the routes in time for a Spring launch.

Many thanks to the NPs AONB staff for their support and hard work and all those prepared to provide match funding. Its now fingers crossed time then watch this space. In any event please be prepared to donate a few quid AND turn out with your shovel to build 900 m of new trail in March. Routes don't happen by themselves.
