Route: Humshaugh & Vallum
Date of Ride: 24 April, 2019

On Wednesday evening 7 riders enjoyed a dry but murky Humshaugh & Vallum route crossing the line of Hadrian’s Wall just past half way through the ride. The vallum, or ditch, was dug about 2000 years ago and is still very obvious. Note too, the lime kiln possibly 200 years old; the stone monument celebrates the place where Baden Powell held the very first Boys Scouts camp in the world.
