Mark has spent the last decade taking on world records and world firsts in ultra endurance. Best known as a cyclist, he circumnavigated the globe taking a staggering 82 days off the best time, pedalled the length of the Americas and when he rode the length of Africa in 2015 he took 18 days off the previous record. Off the bike he has ocean rowed through the high Arctic and survived after capsizing whilst rowing the Atlantic. His epic TV documentaries have taken viewers to over 100 countries.
Mark will host an evening of Adventure describinghis epic Africa Solo journey by bicycle. He will be signing copies of his books, “The man who cycled the world” “The man who cycled the Americas” and “Africa Solo”.
For those looking for their own personal challenges closer to home there will be an opportunity to learn about plans to create new recreational cycle routes being planned across the North of England.
The event is being promoted by Tyne Valley MTB Cycling.
Proceeds from the event will be used to part fund the creation of new long distance cycle routes
