And so it came to pass. Many thanks to all who contributed to the sand stone feature launch - especially Cllr Derek Kennedy who funded £2000 of items to make this location special for local and visiting cyclists. Tyne Valley MTB Cycling was there too to show its continued support for this excellent long distance mountain bike route - the first of its type in the UK which is mapped, waymarked and managed.
The Sandstone way now starts / ends at Cafe Enna on Tyne Green Hexham which is aiming to become a cyclists cafe. Hang your bike on the new bike stand at the drop-off loop or hook your bike on the new A frame bike stand at the cafe and call in for a classy cup of coffee (or more). Sandstone Way year 2 starts today - get out and ride either the 3 days version or the new 2 day version or even just a section. The new map will be published at the end of April.
